The 60^th Thessaloniki International Film Festival presents, for the second time, an initiative that aims to further enrich its well-established Agora section. Beloved Greek actor-director Yorgos Pyrpassopoulos becomes the Agora ambassador who will promote the section’s events and goals, collaborating with the film professionals who will attend this year’s edition. He will also present the Agora awards ceremony that will take place Friday November 8^th, 2019.

The Thessaloniki International Film Festival celebrates 60 years– six decades that connect Nikos Koundouros with Finos Films, Jim Jarmusch with Catherine Deneuve and the new generation of Greek filmmakers, the Golden Alexander with the Festival’s publication “First Shot”, the Thermaic Gulf with world cinema.

The 60^th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (31/10 – 10/11/2019) announces its tribute to the groundbreaking work of Gregory J. Markopoulos and Robert Beavers.

The subversive cinema of Catalan director Albert Serra and the cinematic signature of British filmmaker Joanna Hogg are honored at the tributes of the 60^th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (31/10-10/11/2019).

The audience of the 60^th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (October 31^st until November 10^th 2019) will enjoy a John Waters three-day experience.  The daring director and iconic representative of cult cinema will be in Thessaloniki from the 6^th until the 8^th of November 2019 and it is with great pleasure that TIFF will present him with the Golden Alexander award for his contribution to cinema.

The Overview Effect, an experience that can shake human intellect to its core, is the prism through which the 60^th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (October 31^st until November 10^th 2019) views the 14 films of the International Competition.
