The special screening of the short documentary L'éclairage revient / Waves of Light, in collaboration with the Public Power Corporation (PPC), took place on Thursday, March 13th, in the packed John Cassavetes theater, in the presence of the creators Pantelis Kalogerakis, Michalis Kalogerakis and Panagiotis Andrianou, as part of the 27th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival.

On Thursday morning, March 13th at the Pavlos Zannas theater, the audience of the 27th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival had the opportunity to attend a fascinating masterclass, delivered by the remarkable filmmaker and photographer Lauren Greenfield, this year’s distinguished guest. The discussion was held on the occasion of the creator’s new documentary series Social Studies (2024), an innovative social experiment exploring the impact of social media on the first generation of digital natives, today’s adolescents. Lauren Greenfield spoke about her new project, its relation to her previous works, as well as her path and her progress as an artist.

The Agora of the 27th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival bestowed its awards at Warehouse C, on Wednesday March 12th. Making use of all the available tools and new technologies, the Festival’s Agora showcased a new series of actions and backed successful initiatives that took place both in physical spaces and online. This year’s Agora marked a great success, as more than 400 international visitors attended its events.

The presentation of the projects featured in this year’s Agora Docs in Progress, the main meeting point for documentary films at the final stage before completion, was held on Tuesday, March 11, at Frida Liappa theater, as part of the Agora of the 27th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival. Directors and producers from Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean had the opportunity to showcase their documentaries to buyers, co-producers, sales agents, and international festival programmers, aiming to attract their interest and support.
