Multi-awarded film director Yorgos Zois is the candidate selected by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg for this year’s residency program “Berlin AiR: Thessaloniki-Berlin”, hosted for the third consecutive year in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Film Festival. The program offers the opportunity to film industry professionals from Greece who have a new project under way to reside and work in Berlin for a three-month period.

On Saturday 6th, July, filmmaker and animator Fokion Xenos offered a presentation on the mixed-media techniques and the combination of analog and digital registers in the world of animation in Agia Anna. Delving into his multi awarded graduation short, titled Heatwave, the creator talked about the process of discovering new animation techniques, narrating his personal journey from the role of the VFX artist and digital designer all the way to becoming a stop-motion filmmaker.

Beloved musician and singer Kostis Maraveyas returned to Evia Film Project for a masterclass on music for the screen, explaining the terms in which cinema can give a helping hand to the narrative and visual world, while he also spoke about the musical score he wrote for the hit TV series Milky Way by Vasilis Kekatos.

Pantelis Panteloglou, the artistic director of Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People and president of the European Children's Film Association delivered a masterclass on Friday, July 5th in Agia Anna, attempting to set off on a journey through cinema from the early 20th century to the present, with the aim of identifying the key and invariable points, as well as the relentless radical changes of this relationship, with a focus on the Greek reality.
