In the mood for love

Hua yang Nian Hua

Editor-in-chief of a local daily newspaper, Chow and his wife move into a new apartment block. He soon meets Li-zhen, a beautiful woman who has also just moved in with her husband. Li-zhen’s husband is often away on business, and Chow’s wife is also frequently away from home. Chow and Li-zhen become friends, but, one day, they are forced to face facts: their respective partners are having an affair.

Wong Kar-Wai

He was born in Shanghai and grew up in Hong Kong. The "enfant terrible" of Hong Kong cinema, his two previous films competed in Cannes: "Happy Together" won him the Best Director award in 1997 and "In the Mood for Love" was presented in 2000 and won Tony Leung the Best Actor prize.
