Into the Wild

After graduating from college, with a comfortable life ahead of him, young, idealistic Christopher McCandless gave up everything and went off to live in the wilderness of Alaska. Hitchhiking through inhospitable landscapes, McCandless encountered a series of characters that shaped his life. He died in the Alaskan wilderness a few months later.The motives behind his choice, but also the cause of his death are mysteries which only he could answer.

Sean Penn

He grew up in Santa Monica, California. Since making his film debut acting in Taps (1981), he has enjoyed an extensive and celebrated career. He has been nominated four times for the Academy Award for Best Actor in: Dead Man Walking (1995), Sweet and Lowdown (1999), I Am Sam (2001), and Mystic River (2003), for which he won the Academy Award. In 2002, he was presented with the Modern Master Award at the Santa Barbara IFF, and in 2003 became the youngest ever recipient of the Donostia Lifetime Achievement Award from the San Sebastian FF.
