Uranya

Five teenagers are eager to discover love and the whole on top of that. In a small village, a group of young teenagers grow up with dreams, prejudices, secrets and lies.The summer of 1969 will mark their dreams... Urania is a very beautiful lady who lives just outside the village, next to the sea.They are bound together by a joint oath: to save some money so they can visit Urania and be initiated into the mystery of love.When faced with the great dilemma, to either buy the first black-and-white television set in order to watch the landing on the Moon or to visit Urania, the group of boys will fall out and Achilles will be left alone. Will they break their oath for Urania’s sake? Fortunately enough, the film’s deus ex machina knows his job very well...

Costas Kapakas

He was born in Rhodes in 1953. He studied Film at the Berlin Arts Academy and Architecture at the Berlin Polytechnic. Since 1993 he has been directing and producing films and commercials. He has also collaborated with the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation’s children’s program. His first films were animation. His short films have won many awards both in Greece and internationally.His first feature film,Peppermint, won nine Hellenic Ministry of Culture National Cinema Awards including those for Best Film, Best New Director, Best Script and Best Actress. It participated in the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival as well as in other major international festivals where it garnered top awards.
