A well-respected forensic pathologist gets involved in a car accident, where an 8-year-old boy is injured. The man offers to pay compensation and take the kid to a hospital, but the father refuses. The next morning, the boy’s body is brought for an autopsy in the hospital where the pathologist works, but tthe results of the first diagnosis indicate food poisoning. A fine example of the cinema of moral dilemmas, infused with the Iranian film tradition of meticulous character study, an elegy for the ideal men we dreamt to be but buried within.
