Ilian Metev

Ilian Metev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria (1981) and spent part of his childhood in Germany, where he initially pursued a career as a classical violinist. In 2008, he graduated from the UK National Film and Television School with Goleshovo. His first feature Sofia’s Last Ambulance (2012) is a close-up portrait of three Bulgarian medics at work. Ilian’s work has been shown at MοΜΑ in New York and has received over 40 awards, including the German Documentary Film Award 2013
