The film narrates the dissolution of the love relationship between Peter, a young painter, and a relatively unknown theater actress named Maruša. In the streets and taverns of foggy and rainy Ljubljana, they waste their time drinking and taunting each other. The only way out left is dreaming. Insightful, weaving an innovative storytelling for its time and incorporating the teachings of Nouvelle Vague, Boštjan Hladnik’s film noir is considered as the greatest piece of Slovenian cinema.
