No Name

There’s an expression in English for a non-designer make product, or a product of unknown make, and that is: no name. This same expression is used by a group of young people, who live and work on the island of Syros, as the name for their band. In order to make ends meet, they all have other jobs. Makis is a cab driver, Rena is an accountant, Costas is a builder, Christos works at a souvlaki shop, etc. There are also two music teachers among them. The film follows the life of the band members for a brief period, while at the same time it is a travelogue of the island.

Vassilis Kessisoglou

He has directed features and short films and about 40 documentaries, chiefly for the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT SA), based on his own scripts and dealing with social topics, portraits of artists, research and so on. He has taught film history, production and directing and he is in charge of the Film and Television Department of the DOMI Vocational Education School. He is a member of the Greek Directors Guild since 1983 and the Scriptwriters Union of Greece since 2007.
