Heretic

Heretic

TIFF65: Greek Premiere
“Are you interested in learning more about the Church of Jesus Christ?” Two young Mormon missionaries find a more than willing audience in the case of Mr. Reed, an extremely kind man at first glance, who invites them into his home only to lead them right into a trap. What begins as an innocent discussion on theology and faith turns into a bloodcurdling game of manipulation and psychological horror. With Hugh Grant delivering the performance of a lifetime, a performance capable of burrowing under your skin and keeping you on the edge of your seat, Heretic is a horror film that combines (jet) black humor with psychological suspense, and a brilliant script infused with surprises and unexpected twists right up to the very last minute.
