Solitary Fragments

Adela is a thirty-five-year-old single mother who leaves her bucolic home in the Basque country to settle in Madrid. She finds an unfulfilling but adequate job. Her life centers around her infant son. A terrorist attack on a bus shatters her life, but in due course she will have to resume a daily routine. Antonia owns a small supermarket.The handsome widow leads a quiet life centered around her work, her boyfriend Manolo and her beloved daughters, Ines, Nieves and Helena. The already tense relationship between the three daughters is further complicated when Helena asks to borrow money from her mother to buy a new flat.

Jaime Rosales

After receiving a degree in Business Economics from ESADE, his devotion to film was fostered when he won a scholarship in 1996 to study film at the prestigious International Film and Television School in San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV) in Havana and then at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in Sydney. He has given courses, talks and lectures at numerous universities, film schools and art centers. Of special note among his collaborations and participations are the following: the Prado Museum, Caixa Forum, the Picasso Foundation in Málaga, the Reina Sofía Museum, the Centre Georges Pompidou, the Artium Vitoria Museum, CCCB in Barcelona, the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Universidad Carlos III, Universidad of Barcelona, Universidad Pompeu Fabra, ECAM, EICTV, ESADE, New York University, Université de Lyon, and IBAFF. In March 2014, he had a full retrospective of his work shown at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. He has received the National Culture Award by the Generalitat de Catalunya and he is been honored Knight of the Arts and Letters by France’s Ministry of Culture.
