REVELATION POINT

This is a tale of people – basically active middle class citizens – who embark on an inner journey to regain confidence in themselves and control of their lives. After two decades of hoping for democracy and capitalism, instead of the dreamed-for consumerist heaven, these Eastern Europeans found themselves deep in “liquid modernity” (as Zygmunt Bauman coined it) – the state of things in which traditions are gone and there is nothing to replace them. The common element is that all of them have decided to make a change, and all of them have joined a therapy group that sets laughter and positive thinking as a way to both mental and physical healing. Through a strong cinematic approach and a hint of bitter humor, laughing is shown as a desirable way of selfexpression, an attempt to get back to yourself and find your position in this world. It is a story of the power of the human spirit to keep making one small step after another, to go on instead of giving up. This is the featurelength debut of world-renowned visual artists and cinematographers Missirkov/Bogdanov. Films photographed by them have been shown at Cannes, the Berlinale, Toronto, IDFA and many others.
