KULUHIRO: HOPE

Greece-Kenya 2010 45 HD Color

Film description

Two different worlds unite at a remote Kenyan village. Forty Greek volunteers meet Kuluhiro, a group of poor people living with HIV and AIDS on the fringes of society. They share joy and fatigue, and work side by side under the burning sun to bring water to their dry land in the savannah. On December 2010, forty ActionAid volunteers from Alexandroupolis to Crete, defied the financial crisis and set off on a long journey to discover why Kuluhiro means Hope. The film is being screened on the occasion of the year 2011 being declared European Year of Volunteering.
