Film description
The picture opens, before credits, with excerpts from Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. This is followed by Bo Diddley and his electric guitar, and then Jerry Lee Lewis "assaults" a piano. Chuck Berry's contribution goes back to an earlier, more solid, slower beat, as befits a man who was earliest on the scene, but still exceptionally strong. The finale brings on Little Richard, a singer who comes closer to total vocal levitation than any other human being. Seldom has there been a better opportunity to hear Rock'n'Roll as performed by these four masters.
