ESCAPE FROM AMORGOS
2015 70 DCP Color
Film description
During the military dictatorship in Greece (1967-74), thousands of dissidents were imprisoned, tortured and exiled. Among the exiled politicianswas the former minister Georgios Mylonas. The place of exile was the island of Amorgos. In 1969, an international conspiracy took place to organize his escape: the participants were Americans who sheltered the tortured Greeks, Swedish diplomats, and a team of Italian volunteers pretending to be tourists. At a time when the Golden Dawn neo-Nazi party is unfolding the symbols of the dictatorship, a sensational story about the true face of the junta unravels.
