The day-to-day lives of students in a quiet seaside town provide the backdrop for the development of introverted Kayako's fixation with Masami, a mature and rebellious classmate. The friendship between the two girls begins because they happen to ride the same bus to school and eat lunch at the same table. However, this friendship will soon develop into a burning love, destined to change Kayako's life.
