ESPA 2021-2027

The Action “Thessaloniki Film Festival and Thessaloniki Documentary Festival” concerns an intervention aimed at supporting the following events:

● 64th Thessaloniki Film Festival in November 2023 (2–12/11/2023)
● 26th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in March 2024
● 65th Thessaloniki Film Festival in November 2024
● 27th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in March 2025
● 66th Thessaloniki Film Festival in November 2025
● 28th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in March 2026
● 67th Thessaloniki Film Festival in November 2026
● 29th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in March 2027
● 68th Thessaloniki Film Festival in November 2027

Through this action, the main programs of the events will be implemented, excluding those sections financed by other resources. Specifically, the following are included:

● subtitling of film screenings taking place in the framework of the festival editions,

● translation and editing of texts,

● printing of public information materials, production of promotional materials and event signage,

● employment of temporary staff and collaborators for tasks such as program planning, film presentations to audiences, reception and hospitality, organization and production of events, promotion and communication, IT services, bookings, ticket issuance and control, agora - film market activities, film traffic, and film screenings,

● film rental costs (screening fees),

● rental of additional venues,

● hotel accommodation for Festival guests (film cast and crew, film industry professionals, journalists from Greek and international media).

Among other things, the Action contributes to upgrading the image of the largest urban center of the Region of Central Macedonia, where the events are taking place, generating additional tourism interest, increasing visitor numbers, and strengthening cultural tourism.

The Action “Thessaloniki Film Festival and Thessaloniki Documentary Festival” has been included in the Operational Programme “Central Macedonia 2021–2027” (MIS 6002023) and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
