The Non Catalog of the 63rd edition is devoted to Handmade Cinema: to the kind of filmmaking that is characterized by artisanal features, are created in alternative, often surprising production frameworks, and follow a fine aesthetic approach, delivering images that seem ‘embroidered.’ The volume complies essays on Indigenous Cinema, the work of Peter Strickland, Peter Tscherkassky, Eve Heller, and Alexander Petrovic, a study on the unacknowledged legacy of Maria Plyta (the first woman director in Greece), as well as an autobiographical contribution by cinéaste and writer Maria Gavala, one of the most influential figures of New Greek Cinema.
