The Non Catalog of the 62nd edition of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, which takes place as a hybrid event, reminds us of the critical role of art in transitional times of crisis that radically shift the way in which we understand possible ways of living and thinking “together.” This special edition comprises analytical texts on Jean Renoir’s masterpiece The Rules of the Game – the film that informs this year's art exhibition – and the body of work of Binka Zhelyazkova, the first woman director in Bulgaria and one of the most fearless Balkan auteurs; a reflective gaze onto Greek film heritage and a meticulous research on the domestic and international trajectory of Greek films in the last two decades; an alternative reading of Dinos Katsourides’s emblematic film Thanassis, Get Your Gun; and a retrospective look into the milestone film Doxobus by Fotos Lamprinos, through an encounter with the director himself, as well as with a young Byzantine scholar.
