Christmas screenings at the Festival’s theaters
Thessaloniki Film Festival offers the chance to both adults and children who love films to feel the Christmas magic of cinema by watching two movies that remind us of the true meaning of Christmas! The Bishop’s Wife (1947), one of the loveliest Christmas stories, featuring Cary Grant and David Niven, will raise the curtain on Tuesday 21/12 and Thursday 23/12. The following week, shortly before waving goodbye at 2021, on Tuesday 28/12, the floor be given to one of the most beloved Christmas heroes, cranky Grinch, dubbed by the voice of the one-and-only Giorgos Kapoutzidis!

The Bishop’s Wife

An angel (Cary Grant) arrives on Earth with a mission to offer guidance to a bishop (David Niven), who seems to have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas and his duty: taken over by an obsession to renovate his church, he neglects his family forgetting that people are far more important than a building. Using his charm as a means of persuasion, the angel softens people’s hearts, striving to restore the bishop to the path of kindness and love, as Christmas are only a few days away. One of the loveliest Christmas movies, full of tenderness and humor.

Funny, tender and majestically illustrated, our beloved Grinch reflects a universal story on the spirit of Christmas and the invincible power of love and optimism. Giorgos Kapoutzidis offers his voice to the lead character.
