Submissions are open for the 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival

Submit your film to the 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival by May 31st, 2026 and take advantage of the discount early-bird fee. The Festival will take place from November 5 to November 15, 2026.
Submission dates are as follows:
- Early-bird submissions are open until May 31, 2026, with an entry fee of 40 euros for each submission.
- From June 1 and on, entry fee will be 60 euros; submissions deadline is July 17, 2026.
Immersive/XR projects submissions are free of charge. The deadline for Immersive/XR projects is August 31st, 2026.
The submissions for Greek films will open in June.
TIFF features four competition sections: International Competition (a program with first or second feature-length fiction films from across the globe), Meet the Neighbors+ Competition (with first or second feature-length fiction films from Greece's extended neighborhood; see the festival regulations for the list of eligible countries), the Film Forward Competition section (with first of second feature-length fiction films characterized by their innovative approach to cinema), and the Immersive: All Around Cinema Competition section (with Immersive/XR films).
Moreover, in the International Program we find the sections: Open Horizons, Survey Expanded, Special Screenings, Out of Competition and ’Round Midnight, while the NextGen section features films with a focus on children and teenagers.
The films of the International Competition section are eligible for the following awards:
- Golden Alexander “Theo Angelopoulos” – Best Full-length Feature Film Award, accompanied by a 10,000-euro cash prize
- Silver Alexander – Best Director Award, offered by COSMOTE TV, the Festival’s Grand Sponsor, accompanied by a 5,000 euros cash prize.
- Best Actor Award
- Best Actress Award
The Jury may also bestow a Best Screenplay Award or a Best Artistic Achievement Award.
The films of the Meet the Neighbors+ competition section will compete for the following awards:
- Golden Alexander “Michel Demopoulos” – Best Full-length Feature Film Award, accompanied by a 10,000-euro cash prize
- Silver Alexander – Best Director Award, accompanied by a 5,000-euro cash prize
- Best Actor Award
- Best Actress Award
The Jury may also bestow a Best Screenplay Award or a Best Artistic Achievement Award.
The films of the Film Forward competition section will compete for the following awards:
- Golden Alexander – Best Full-length Feature Film Award, accompanied by an 8,000-euro cash prize
- Silver Alexander – Best Director Award, accompanied by a 4,000-euro cash prize
The Jury may also bestow a Best Screenplay Award or a Best Artistic Achievement Award
The films of the Immersive: All Around Cinema competition section vie for the Golden Alexander-Best Immersive International Competition Award, accompanied by a cash prize of 2,000 euros.
The LGBTQI+-themed films vie for the Mermaid Award; the award is accompanied by a cash prize of 3,000 euros.
