Quasi a casa

There comes a time in everyone’s life, when we need to start figuring out what our place in the world is. Caterina is in her 20s and she wants to be a musician, but she’s paralyzed by fear and insecurity. One summer she meets her idol, the French singer Mia, and gets to know her. It is the beginning of a complex relationship that will accompany Caterina over the years and finally allow her to find home. Almost. A highly sophisticated comedy that recruits French scene's rising star and Jane Birkin's daughter, Lou Doillon, to help us learn how to balance the complexities of life – especially the lives contaminated by the power of art. In this process, the filmmaker Carolina Pavone reminds us, “we never stop being afraid and feeling insecure; but when we understand that we belong to a place we can call 'home,' we should do everything we can to never lose it.”

Carolina Pavone

Carolina Pavone was born in Rome in 1994. From 2017 to 2019, she attended the Direction course at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. She later worked as an assistant director with Nanni Moretti on the films Mia madre, Three Floors and A Brighter Tomorrow, and with Leonardo Guerra Seragnoli on Likemeback and The Time of Indifference. Quasi a casa is her first feature film.
