With our eyes set on the dramatic events taking place in Ukraine over the last three weeks, Thessaloniki Documentary is including two additional screenings in its program. The lyric fiction movie Toloka directed by Mikhail Ilenko will be screened, with a free admission, on Thursday March 17th, at 12:00, at John Cassavetes theater. The acclaimed Ukranian director was helped to flee Kyiv so as to escape from the horror of war and will attend Thessaloniki Documentary Festival to preface the screening of his film and answer the audience’s questions.

The screening of the documentary Dimitris Skyllas: AFTERPOP was accompanied by live music performance and was attended by both the director and Dimitris Skyllas himself, on Saturday March 12th, in the overflowing theater Tonia Marketaki. The event was prefaced by a trumpet solo, featuring the movie’s main theme, performed by Dimitris Gogas. The screening was followed by a Q&A.

The Grocer by Dimitris Koutsiabasakos, the 24th TDF's universally accessible screening, was held on Saturday March 12th, at Olympion. The screening, as all universally accessible screenings held within the framework of both Thessaloniki International Film Festival and Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, was carried out in collaboration with Alpha Bank, the Festival’s accessibility sponsor.
