Symptom

One winter, on a remote island, a strange creature appears. Whoever comes in contact with it loses his mind. The inhabitants of the island ask for help from a strange girl who seems to be the only one with the power to confront the creature, and so she starts a merciless crusade against it. But as the war rages on and the battle between good and evil seems to be clear, we discover that beneath the surface lie many hidden secrets. The creature behaves more and more like a human, while the girl, in order to strengthen her faith, ends up acting more and more outrageously and absurdly.

Angelos Frantzis

He was born in Athens in 1970. He studied Film Direction at INSAS in Brussels. He has made five shorts and four feature films. His films have been screened and won awards at many international film festivals (Rotterdam, Torino, Hong Kong, Munich, Istanbul, et al.). Besides film directing, he has been involved in mixed media art projects (installation, performance) and has worked as a film critic, publishing reviews in various books and magazines. His latest installation, Got to Be Real, participated in the 13th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia in 2012.
