RETURN OF THE IDIOT

Set in contemporary times, the film presents a story, as well as a portrait of interpersonal relationships whose main character is also an observer. Released from an asylum into the care of his only known relatives, "the Idiot" becomes trapped in their complicated relationships, finding himself in situations that are at once funny, awkward and stifling. He witnesses the shifting relationships, the manoeuvering, the conflicts and the painful revelations. He feels for everybody and is touched by everything, understanding his relatives better than they understand themselves. Yet because of his lack of ego and equal love for everyone, he is unable to intercede and help them. And what about him? Is there anyone who loves "the Idiot"?
