LOWLAND

“Something enters us, from an early age.” This something settles in and often determines our life course. It can appear as nostalgia or as a demon; it can become creativity, it can become music. Music composer Apostolos Dimitrakopoulos is searching for the root of this undefined “something” in his past. He tries to trace it in the lowland of Thessaly and in his music. The camera follows him. Pictures, words, thoughts and feelings are all an attempt to understand the mystery behind creativity. The film explores the emptiness and vastness of the lowland and approaches it as a challenge, an impasse and a source of inspiration
