IN SITU

During the ’80s, Thessaloniki functioned as an international crossroads for several musicians embarking on free improvisation. Traces of this creativity are still visible throughout the city, just as other places across Europe, expressed both through younger and older musicians actively participating in this genre. The documentary follows the trail of certain musicians, recording their varying perspectives on free improvisation, sound, silence and their manner of thinking and living. The main characters explain their views on life, the art form they are serving and the means they utilize, while we witness the birth of music in situ. Featuring the musicians: Sakis Papademetriou, Floros Floridis, Gianni Lenoci, Gianni Mimmo, Gunter “Baby” Sommer, Christos Yermenoglou, Petros Damianides and Leo Feigin.
