I SPEND TIME WITH MAKING: LUCAS SAMARAS

Lucas Samaras is a Greek-American visual artist; he is a pioneer of performance and the use of photography and film. Despite his extensive use of new media, his oeuvre retains visible elements of the traditions of his place of origin. He is among the artists who have dealt more extensively with existential questions and issues of identity. In 2005, the J. F. Costopoulos Foundation organized a major retrospective devoted to his work in Greece.
