BIOGRAPHY OF A YOUNG ACCORDION PLAYER

Esken is a little boy living in a mining village in southern Kazakhstan. It is the years following WWII, and Esken, curious by nature, proceeds to discover the world. On Saturday nights, the villagers get together and dance, while Esken plays his accordion. Life passes by peacefully, despite the fact that the Party watches over everything and arrests anyone considered to be an opponent of the rgime.
