They grew up together. They fell in love. But everybody pressured them to separate. Omer was Turkish-Cypriot and Muslim. Rhodou was Greek-Cypriot and Christian. In Cyprus of political conflicts and fanaticism there is no room for the desires of ordinary people if these desires oppose the general trend. PANIKOS CHRYSANTHOU

He was born in the village of Kythrea near Nicosia which today lies in the occupied territories. He studied Philosophy at the University of Athens and did his training at film archives in Germany. He has worked as a journalist and was in charge of the Cyprus Club in Nicosia and the Cyprus Cinémathèque, as well as director of the Studio art house in Nicosia. His films have screened at festivals in Germany, France and Spain
